Celebrating the birthday of the fifth Chabad Rebbe, Rebbe Shalom Dovber Schneerson Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn, known as the Rebbe Rashab, was born in Lubavitch in 1860 and became the fifth leader of Chabad-Lubavitch. For 38 years, he delivered over 2,000 chassidic discourses and founded the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva, uniting Talmudic study with Chassidic philosophy—the mystical teachings of Torah about G-d’s oneness and joyful service. Revered for his systematic approach to Chabad thought, he was called “the Maimonides of Chassidus.”
